Seven Tigers Lighting exports to the Middle East, North America, the United Kingdom, Africa and Asia. This policy sets out our approach to lawful, well-documented trade.
1. Our commitment
Seven Tigers Lighting exports to buyers in many countries. We take our responsibilities seriously: every shipment is to be made lawfully, documented accurately and delivered to a verified buyer. This policy explains how we approach export compliance and what we ask of our customers.
2. Laws we follow
Our exports are made in accordance with the laws of India that govern foreign trade, customs and foreign exchange, including the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 and the Foreign Trade Policy issued under it, the Customs Act, 1962 and the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. We also respect the import laws of the destination country and the economic sanctions and trade controls that apply to us. Registration and licence details relevant to a transaction are provided on request in our quotation and shipping documentation.
3. Product classification
Lighting products are classified under the Harmonized System (HS), generally within chapter 94 (heading 9405, lamps and lighting fittings). The correct code depends on the product, its light source and its construction. We state the classification we use in our commercial invoice. Importers and their customs brokers remain responsible for confirming the classification and duty rate that the destination country applies.
4. Shipping documents
Depending on the shipment and the buyer’s requirements, we prepare or support:
- Proforma invoice and commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading or airway bill
- Certificate of origin (preferential or non-preferential, where applicable)
- Product test reports and certificates of conformity, on request
- Insurance documentation, where the agreed delivery term requires it
Buyers should tell us at the quotation stage about any attestation, legalisation, pre-shipment inspection or special labelling that their country requires.
5. Delivery terms and costs
We quote on internationally recognised Incoterms® rules, which set who arranges and pays for carriage, insurance and clearance, and where risk passes. Unless the quotation states otherwise, import duties, taxes, port charges, demurrage, inspection fees and local clearance costs at the destination are the buyer’s responsibility.
6. Product safety, certification and electrical compatibility
Lighting is regulated for electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and in some cases energy performance and hazardous substances. Common schemes include:
| Market | Examples of requirements |
|---|---|
| India | Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for notified lighting products |
| European Union and United Kingdom | CE marking and UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking, with RoHS substance restrictions |
| United States and Canada | Listing by a recognised testing laboratory (for example UL or cUL), and local electrical codes |
| Gulf region | Conformity schemes such as SASO and SABER (Saudi Arabia) and ECAS (United Arab Emirates) |
Which rules apply depends on the product and the destination, and rules change. Our ranges are offered for 110V and 240V markets; plugs, voltage, frequency and certification must be specified when you order. The buyer is responsible for confirming that the products it orders may legally be imported and sold in its market.
7. Sanctions and restricted parties
We do not supply, directly or indirectly, to persons, entities or destinations that are subject to sanctions or embargoes that apply to us, or where doing so would be unlawful. We may screen buyers, consignees, banks and end users against applicable restricted-party lists, and we may ask for company registration documents and details of the end user and destination. We may delay, suspend or cancel an order that fails screening, without liability.
8. End-use and re-export
Buyers must not divert goods to a destination, user or purpose that would breach applicable law, and must not re-export our products to a sanctioned country or party. For government, defence, military or other regulated end users we supply only where the law permits, and may require end-use or end-user statements and the approvals that the contract or the countries involved demand.
9. Anti-bribery and ethical trade
We do not offer, pay or accept bribes or improper payments, and we expect our agents, distributors and customers to follow the same standard under the anti-corruption laws that apply to them. Gifts and hospitality must be modest and lawful.
10. Packing, marking and inspection
Goods are packed for export handling and marked with the information needed for carriage and customs, including country of origin. Where timber packaging is used we follow the international standard for wood packaging material (ISPM 15) as required by the destination. Buyers should inspect goods on arrival and report any claim in line with our Terms of Use and the order confirmation.
11. Record keeping
We keep export records, invoices, shipping documents and related correspondence for the periods required by Indian law and, where applicable, the laws of the destination, and may disclose them to authorities on lawful request.
12. Contact for export enquiries
For questions about documentation, certification, classification or any compliance concern, please write to our export desk.

This policy is a general statement of our approach and does not replace the specific terms of a quotation, order confirmation or sales contract. Regulations change, and buyers should take their own advice on import rules in their country.
